David Assouline Leads, and Selbst and Collopy Close Behind

After 8 hours of game play, the Day 2b of the WSOP Main Event 2025 concluded with ‘David Assouline’ leading with a total of 387, 000 chips. It was reasonably shorter day in the terms of World Series of Poker Main Event, but it generated a lot of action and moves with Matt Reed, Ricardo Fasanaro, Jim Collopy and Assouline, all building the stacks of more than 300,000 chips.

Jim Collopy, who is also known as ‘Mr Big Queso’ online, was silent for most of the day, but later on, this twenty one years old pro who is appearing in WSOP for the first time, made a rush taking the stacks upto 305,000. Vanessa Selbst, a pro of new PokerStars team also had great day. She was ‘zeroing’ on 300,000 for most of the time, before reaching at 265, 000 to end day. Selbst entered a dream condition having ‘pocket aces’ all in pre-flop against the opponents. The house drew out kc-2s-2h-7q-qd and ultimately Vanessa Selbst got the larger pot. Later in night, the poker pro was also announced as winner of massive ol’bag’ as a part of Beef Jerky Promotion (offered by Jack Link) when she ‘rivered’ quad jacks.

Walls spent the whole day as chip leader (with 400,000) at a point before going back to ‘241,000’ by end of night. The pros including William Thorson, Vanessa Rousso, Jan Heitmann, Jason Mercier and Florian Langmann also made it with a good number of chips on hand. While many players did extremely well on Day Two b, there were many who failed to make it, including Todd Brunson, Phil Ivey, George Danze, JC Tran, Jon Little and Doyle Brunson.

Probably, most talked about hand to come about from the Day Two b was the hand between Ted Bort and Prahlad Friedman. Sunday is the day off for WSOP, the only ‘day-off’ of entire 7 weeks of festival. The survivors attempt to rest and calm down in preparations to rejoin the fight on Monday. It is not likely that players will hit jackpot by end of the Monday. All players will have to run through another action packed play day, devoid of being promised any return on the investment of ten thousand dollars.
